GSU 25 Park Place Annex

Interior Design

PRAXIS3’s design for the restoration of the 1939 art deco façade of the 25 Park Place Annex Building was implemented and completed in 2017. Located on GSU’s downtown Atlanta campus, the project scope included historic window replacement, the reconfigura-tion of street-level glazed openings on Edgewood Avenue to make a more pedestrian friendly façade, and the creation of a new building lobby for students and faculty. In addition, the building’s Life Safety systems, emergency exits, and accessible routes were improved to comply with modern building codes. As the University continues to develop in the heart of Downtown Atlanta, this facility is seen as an important contribution to the creation of a vital campus environment. The project includes a major campus identity element featuring the university logo and LED lighting at the corner of Edgewood Avenue and Equitable Place, framing a major pedestrian thoroughfare that connects the original GSU campus with the growth areas of Five Points and Fairlie-Poplar. PRAXIS3 brought to this project a unique blend of expertise, combining campus design, urban planning, historic preservation, and the design of branded environments and graphic design.
